Well, it was about time I re-designed it. The previous version was coded using, amongst other HTML no-nos, the infamous <font> tags - way too archaic for 2004! And it looked pretty bland.
For this effort I set out with some goals:
Code avoiding tables.
Try not to make it look like the typical site of an information architect who thinks that blogs and wikis are the dog's bollocks. That's an English expression for 'the ultimate'. Not that I consider myself an IA...
Design a 'lite' interface that successfully presents content, pics and text without distracting the user and slowing down his/her browsing.
Have you been paying attention? I've just listed three goals I want to achieve with this site!
Building and maintaining this site is time well spent as I have a chance to think about my work - past, present and future - and ways to improve my chances to reach 'the objective'.
And what may that objective be? Money? Success?>
Not necessarily. I'm aiming for 'time' and 'space', and that's not easy if you're working your @$$ off in a city like London.
Conclude please. This is getting too long.
I know, I know. People have very limited attention spans on the web and certainly for surreal copy like this one, where the author is talking to himself.
